The Ghanaian Community Health Clinic plays a vital role in bridging health care gaps within the Ghanaian and African diaspora communities in Chicago. By providing free and accessible services, it removes barriers to care for uninsured and underinsured individuals. The clinic not only serves as a medical hub but also as a trusted cultural and social support system, ensuring that health care is delivered with cultural sensitivity and understanding.

Community Impact

What makes the Ghanaian Community Health Clinic unique is its multi-disciplinary model. It brings together professionals from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social services, creating a holistic approach to health care that reflects both the physical and social needs of individuals and families in the community.

The clinic not only focuses on treatment but also places a strong emphasis on health education, disease prevention, and community outreach, helping people live healthier lives through knowledge and access to reliable health resources.

Unique Model of Care

  • Mission: The clinic’s mission is to provide essential health care services while also promoting preventative care, ensuring that the community is supported in maintaining long-term health and well-being.

  • Vision: The clinic envisions a future where quality, evidence-based health care is available to all, regardless of financial status.

Mission & Vision

The Ghanaian Community Health Clinic is a volunteer-based health center dedicated to serving the needs of the Ghanaian community and the wider population on Chicago’s Southside. Established through a partnership with the Ghana National Council of Chicago, the clinic provides comprehensive, high-quality health care services free of charge to ensure that members of the community have access to the care they need.
