Dear Elders, Chiefs, Queen mothers, Members of the Ghanaian Community, Friends, Partners, Supporters and the General Public,
It is with deep humility, pride, and a renewed sense of purpose that I extend warm greetings to you on behalf of the Ghana National Council of Chicago (GNC)—the umbrella body that represents the collective interests, culture, and aspirations of Ghanaians in the Greater Chicago area.
Since its establishment in 1984, the GNC has stood as a pillar of unity, advocacy, and progress for our community. Under my leadership, guided by a clear mission and strategic blueprint, our commitment remains unwavering: to strengthen unity among our diverse associations, promote transparency and accountable governance, empower our youth and women, preserve our rich cultural heritage, expand and resource our community health clinic and position the GNC as a strong, credible, and forward-looking institution.
The Ghana National Council continues to serve the broader public through impactful initiatives such as GhanaFest, cultural and heritage programs, youth development and mentorship, educational and professional empowerment forums, immigration and civic engagement awareness, and strategic collaborations with local, national, and international partners. These initiatives are not incidental—they are deliberate steps within our blueprint to build opportunity, foster identity, and secure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Our affiliate associations reflect the rich ethnic, regional, and cultural diversity of Ghana. This diversity is our greatest strength. The GNC exists to harness it into one coordinated voice—where dialogue replaces division, collaboration outweighs competition, and shared goals take precedence over individual interests. My manifesto places strong emphasis on inclusivity, respect, and consensus-building, ensuring that every association and every voice matters.
I therefore call on all Ghanaians and friends of Ghana to actively engage with the Council. Attend our programs, volunteer your time and expertise, support our initiatives, and remain informed and involved. Together, we can advance key priorities such as community welfare, youth leadership development, institutional growth, and the long-term vision of establishing a permanent Ghana House—a home that symbolizes unity, identity, and legacy.
As President, I reaffirm my commitment to transparent leadership, accountable stewardship of resources, effective communication, and service-driven governance. Let us continue to walk this path together—with trust, teamwork, and a shared determination to build a vibrant, respected, and enduring Ghanaian community in Chicago and the Midwest.
Thank you for your continued confidence, dedication, volunteer spirit and support.
May God bless you all.
May God bless Ghana.
And may God bless the United States of America.
Sincerely,
Effah Ameyaw
President

It is with great pride and purpose that I bring you warm greetings on behalf of the Ghana National Council of Chicago (GNC)—the umbrella organization representing the interests, culture, and aspirations of Ghanaians in the Greater Chicago area. Since its founding, the GNC has served as a vital pillar of unity and progress within our community. Our mission is clear: to promote Ghanaian culture, empower our people through education and engagement, and provide a collective voice for the Ghanaian diaspora in Chicago and beyond.
The Council offers a wide range of benefits to the public. Through our cultural programs such as Ghanafest, educational initiatives, youth mentorship, immigration awareness forums, and collaboration with local and international partners, we continue to build bridges that connect our people to opportunity, identity, and a shared future.
Our member associations span the diverse ethnic and regional backgrounds of Ghana, working together under one united vision. The strength of the Council lies in this collective spirit—where differences are celebrated, and common goals pursued with passion and purpose. I encourage every Ghanaian and friend of Ghana to get involved. Whether through attending our events, volunteering, joining an affiliate association, or simply staying informed, your participation matters. Together, we can uplift our community, preserve our rich heritage, and create lasting impact for generations to come.
As President, I remain deeply committed to transparency, inclusivity, and the advancement of our people. Let us continue to stand together, support one another, and build a vibrant legacy that reflects the best of who we are.
