ALOKPEM PROJECT

Accra, March 11, 2024 - Ada East District, Ghana

GADANGME CHICAGO a leading organization dedicated to community development, is set to launch an ambitious water treatment project in Alokpem, located in the Ada East District of Ghana. The upcoming project aims to address water quality and accessibility challenges faced by the residents of Alokpem and surrounding areas.

The project entails the donation of essential equipment and infrastructure to improve water treatment and storage capabilities in the region. These include:

​

1. Three filter sets with UV treatment technology, ensuring the removal of impurities and pathogens from the water supply.


2. Three water storage tanks, comprising two 3000-litre tanks and one larger 5000-litre tank, providing ample storage capacity for clean water.


3. Two 1.5 horsepower pumps, facilitating efficient water distribution and delivery to households.


4. Three platforms for the storage tanks, ensuring stability and proper elevation for effective gravity-fed water distribution.


5. A 2000W solar system with storage batteries, enabling sustainable and eco-friendly power supply for the water treatment facilities.


6. Two pump stations, strategically located to optimize water distribution and access across the community.


7. Necessary pipes, wires, switches, and sockets to connect and operate the water treatment and storage systems seamlessly.

The implementation of this water treatment project is a testament to GADANGME CHICAGO's commitment to improving the quality of life for residents in rural areas. Adequate access to clean and safe drinking water is essential for health, sanitation, and overall well-being.
